Today was a big day! After years and years of being pen pals with my friend, Jenn Anderson, who is now an incredible mom to two super cute girls, and she works so hard to support them -- we finally got to meet in person! It has been probably at least 15 years of MySpace messages, hundreds of letters between many addresses -- mostly between Florida and Wisconsin, then "likes" and comments on Facebook and Instagram posts, and a whole lot of texts.
The first time we talked about meeting was in February 2018, when we were still in Michigan after Emma's big surgery. We were about five hours from where she lives, and Jenn talked about taking a road trip to visit us and meet Emma. But shortly after that, we were told we could take Emma back to Winnie Palmer Hospital in Orlando and I didn't want the first time she met Emma to be when she was all groggy and half sedated, so we waited.
And we got to meet 15 months later!! We were able to meet because she brought Nova, her older daughter, who is 3 1/2, down to go to Disney! I loved that they had matching Disney shirts. Arla is only 1 1/2 so she stayed back in Wisconsin with her dad, but Jenn said she plans to come back again in a couple years and she will bring Arla then too. I can't wait to meet her and next time Michael and Emma have to come too. They stayed at home today.
Here are our wonderful pictures from earlier today, where we met for brunch at TuTu Tango. I had never been there before, but it looked interesting. Afterwards, Jenn and Nova stayed played and played mini golf at the course next door. Oh, and it was so cute -- when I got there Nova handed me this little stuffed cow toy that she picked out at the Wisconsin airport "for Baby Emma"!
