Recently I got my act together and started another health
regiment. I even came up with a point system. I get really excited about this kind of stuff:
4 points ~ fruits, veggies, salad
3 points ~ quinoa, protein such as sausage and grilled chicken, a sandwich, apple sauce
2 points ~ nuts, milk (for cereal), yogurt, bottle of water, chicken nuggets
1
point ~ bread/ crackers, soup, walking per half mile or doing 50 reps
of an exercise
Minus
a point for chips or desserts and if we eat out somewhere that isn't a salad bar, plus I don't get any points for the meal. Pinterest
quote: Your body keeps an accurate journal regardless of what you write
down. Oh snap!! In the first week I lost a pound and a half (from 126.4
to 124.8) although I always hope for more. I'll keep going though to
reach my Christmas goal of 108 and push through the annoying cravings,
wondering why I have to crave anything unhealthy at all. Maybe in time
that will pass and I'll crave peaches or sprouts. I do need to add
sprouts to my sandwiches.
I've
gone for wonderfully warm walks on my days off, usually in the morning or in the evening depending on when it rains. My good friend Lindsey asked
how I motivate myself to walk since it's so hot and boring when I don't
have anyone to talk to. Here are some of my answers:
- Sweating is a great natural detox (sweat is just fat crying!)
- I feel better/ healthier, and am proud of myself which is very important
- Helps me lose weight and get a real tan
- I can substitute walks for naps since being outside boosts my energy a little bit
- Fresh air clears my mind and is a great destresse
- I am my favorite self when I am in healthy mode because I am more outgoing and willing to try new things

I
didn't walk on Sunday due to running errands and cleaning up my
scrapbook room, but then definitely felt the opposite of benefits for
not burning those endorphins. We did go to Cocoa Beach for 10 minutes. It wasn't supposed to rain until later in the
evening, but those clouds came a'rolling! It was still a fun weekend
(usually Michael and I only see each other about 20 minutes each day if
he's not already asleep when I get home after work)
and I told him that I'd like to try for another beach trip on the next
weekend I have off.
