The Iris Surprise

Almost 7 years ago (wow, feeling old!) I really got into photography after we got our Canon Rebel T2i when graduating from Full Sail at the beginning of April 2011, so I went back to the school on days I wasn't working and asked teachers if I could take behind the scenes photos of the students filming their projects. The most fun thing about this particular shoot was seeing that one of the actors was someone I knew! Chris de Padua played Kenneth in Blood Widow, the movie we had filmed that summer in June. This project he was working on was called The Iris Surprise, but now I don't remember what it was about ~ sorry. Chris is the guy in the brown plaid shirt. These pictures are from December 6, 2011 and for some reason I never posted them before, so here they are now:
I don't remember if this was before or after we got the 50mm lens. Michael told me that the 50mm would be better for low lighting because the F-stop goes lower and opens up more (1.8) compared to the kit lens (3.5) allowing in more light. Maybe we still had the kit lens at this time, and if so, I definitely would have needed to crank up the ISO and make the shutter speed faster so my pictures wouldn't turn out blurry. However, judging by the depth of field I'm going to assume I was using the 50mm.
