If you remember the Instagram photo from Good Will around my birthday, you will know that Michael and I have been trying to do the Penguin prosthetic (from Batman Returns, 1995) since the beginning of June. Although he had to work today, he suggested we try it tonight. And it was a success!

Michael sculpted this piece all by himself with clay over my cement life cast, then ran the foam and cooked it in a small oven. Nothing was store bought this time. I'm so proud of him!

This doesn't show off much of the female business suit type outfit we got at Good Will, but I love that hat which he purchased today from the party store!

Michael already has another project in mind that I get to help with/ be the model for. I think that one might be all make up though, without using a prosthetic. There are a few things I will have to remember: how long it can take to finish the process. I got through 3 episodes of "Glee" tonight! And to have a area with clean air to run to when he has to use alcohol palettes & spray them onto my face.

"Life's Too Short to Blind People with Rock Salt"

This past weekend in Alachua was a nice getaway. I will admit that my internal clock's schedule got out of whack and I slept far too much, but the sleepover with Mia was well worth it and I am now on another glorious Glee binge, watching three or four episodes every night. Unfortunately, we did not have our much anticipated Indian Adventure, or visit kittens at the animal shelter(s), but still forced ourselves to be awake for breakfast with Grandpa on Saturday morning. We did get to spend a couple hours with Sharanya at her new house in the woods beneath the stars. She says there is a creek with a ten foot waterfall near her house, so we will have to check that out next time. Sometimes I wish I could stay for a longer amount of time, especially when I try to make lots of fun plans, but I would want Michael and Sasha there too.

Last night Michael and I had dinner at Sweet Tomatoes then enjoyed a run through Target before they closed. I got a new skirt for work and a colorful tank top. Its going to be my favorite beach outfit for July! As the manager announced on the intercom that we had to check out, I ran to the freezer aisle for more strawberry flavored Toaster Strudels then yelled in Michael's direction, asking if he wanted one or two packs. He laughed and asked if I felt like we were on a timed game show. (He wanted two and yes, I did.) At home we snuggled on the couch with Sasha and watched our Netflix movie, The Darkest Hour. This morning after being woken up by intense thunder, Michael suggested we have breakfast at Denny's before work. That was a fun surpise. I tried the Fit Slam with spinach and tomatoes scrambled into egg whites, an English muffin and fruit. Not bad!

Benefit of Crazy

A couple weeks ago was Telecommunicator Week (April 9th-14th) and with my intense excitement for both Mix-Match Days, I won. On Tuesday, I was presented with a $10 gift card to Target. Yay! I had previously seen a notebook that I wanted, so I bought it today, along with a bunch of black photo corners. 

I had been wanting to put together a book of wide Polaroids, but sometimes even a fun hobby can seem like a daunting task. Luckily, I find simplicity to be quite beautiful. I've only begun, but here are some photos from August (when Michael bought me the camera) that I have added into the notebook already.

Work Overload

Not for me. It's tough sometimes waking up at 4:30am for work - especially if I don't get enough sleep or I get too much, then I tend to be groggy. But it's nothing compared to what Michael and his friend, Osiris, have been doing lately. They work from 8-5pm at Ripley's, then go straight to the shoot until 3am for a horror short where a guy gets sucked in through his computer. (It makes me thinks of the little home movie I made with Jessica & Lindsey a long time ago about them "falling" into the computer and becoming Sims characters.) But Michael and Osiris also had to get up again today for work and they will be going to the shoot again afterward. He says he probably won't be able to sleep in tomorrow either. 

The above photos were taken this past weekend when they were making a mold of the keyboard. Michael wanted me to take a bunch of pictures of them working and his silly reaction is because I ended up paparazzi-ing them.

My plans for today include getting my hair cut at a salon, hopefully the lady I went to last time is working so I can get it done the same way as I did prior to shooting "Blood Widow" in June. Then proceeding to dye it myself ~ something I haven't done in about 13 months! ~ going back to a lighter color, since my roots are covering most of my head and look too "blah".
