Toy Story

On Tuesday I brought some of my favorite mini books to work to show my trainer, Kristen. She is very nice and also asked to see the premiere ones, so I'll have to bring those this weekend. But now that I have a good amount of mini Polaroids, I've been meaning to create an album for them, especially after seeing the pretty ones other people have made.
Yesterday during my fun errand run, I picked up this sad looking bear for Sasha at the Dollar Store. I have also been looking for some small bunny & sheep figurines for my own decoration display. I was only able to find this porcelain bunny at JoAnn Fabrics. Such a disappointment that with all the Easter decorations for sale, this was the only "cute" one I could find. (&&&.. I planted six new flowers ~ Phytomania, I know!)
Soft bear with the long torso has been added to Sasha's collection. Soon enough crucial body parts will be missing - such as the eyes from Frankenstein and Santa porcupine's nose! That's her way of showing them love. (I gave her a couple treats for posing.)
Tonight we are having a "dinner meeting" with Julie at Bahama Breeze to tell her our plans to move to North Carolina instead of Los Angeles, to see if she still wants to live with us for a year before we design & build our house (that's the current plan)! Also, Michael has a job proposition for her to see if she wants to be the secretary/manager of the new Special Make Up FX business that he & Osiris are talking about starting.

Grandmother Willow

Are you getting tired of my plant photos? If so, I'm sorry.

Today was an errands day and included more of too much sleeping. Michael slept until 3pm, but that's okay because he really needed it. I have gone to Target at least four times since yesterday. Michael has been wanting a few Blu-Rays so I bought those for him and we watched them. The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo and Bridesmaids. I have tomorrow off too. I think we are going out to eat and seeing The Hunger Games in the afternoon.

I'm having some issues with my hair. I didn't like that the lady thinned it out with her cat fur scissors. I should have cut it myself like old times. I'm sure I won't get it cut again before the end of the year. I have to put gel and hairspray in it for me to like it. Also, I dyed it black - not blonde. Here is a mini-Polaroid of me and the sweet hubs. He is working again on a sculpt (to create a prosthetic out of) for the Teen Wolf costume he is making for a guy. He made the ears last week and I want a pair for myself! They look like elf ears, but are accurate, matching to the ones made in the 1985 movie.

Work Overload

Not for me. It's tough sometimes waking up at 4:30am for work - especially if I don't get enough sleep or I get too much, then I tend to be groggy. But it's nothing compared to what Michael and his friend, Osiris, have been doing lately. They work from 8-5pm at Ripley's, then go straight to the shoot until 3am for a horror short where a guy gets sucked in through his computer. (It makes me thinks of the little home movie I made with Jessica & Lindsey a long time ago about them "falling" into the computer and becoming Sims characters.) But Michael and Osiris also had to get up again today for work and they will be going to the shoot again afterward. He says he probably won't be able to sleep in tomorrow either.
The above photos were taken this past weekend when they were making a mold of the keyboard. Michael wanted me to take a bunch of pictures of them working and his silly reaction is because I ended up paparazzi-ing them.

My plans for today include getting my hair cut at a salon, hopefully the lady I went to last time is working so I can get it done the same way as I did prior to shooting "Blood Widow" in June. Then proceeding to dye it myself ~ something I haven't done in about 13 months! ~ going back to a lighter color, since my roots are covering most of my head and look too "blah". Here is the example photo I bring in, of Dianna Agron from "Glee".

Regular Days Off

I currently do not like having RDO's (regular days off). They are quite long and boring. I tend to sleep far too much. Shame.. Although I have only had one official work day, including answering live calls, I look forward to answering more calls tomorrow and one day soon working overtime after I have proven myself worthy of no longer needing to be supervised. Practice makes perfect!

This morning I planted more flowers - I got different kinds too: another Giant Zinnia (Canary yellow in color), pink Cosmos Sensations and an Annual Cut Flower Mixture.
Here is a new photo, showing off the Zinnias I purchased last week (they are on growth Day 7). They should turn out purple and orange once they blossom. It worries me how long the stems are. I feel as if I need to add more soil, simply to support them. They frighten me, hanging over the edge of the can like that. What do you think?
I bought some on-sale fabric from Wal-Mart yesterday for an "Amish apron" I plan on one day hand-sewing. I decided that I would rather use the burlap-textured material to make a doll. I haven't done that in a long time.. after my sad pillow cat got laughed at!! I was a tad disappointed that it took me 45 minutes just to get part of her left leg sewn together. That could have been due to the fact that I was half-watching the Amish episode of Bones at the same time. I don't have any stuffing yet..
I have been on an Reese's Sonic Blast kick lately. Also, I thought Michael needed to try Sonic's new sweet potato tots (he had eaten most of them before I took the picture!) since he always gets a side of sweet potato fries when we go to Orlando Ale House. However, I ate real food first: a healthy meal of grilled chicken, green beans and black eyed peas. Mmmmm!!

Spiffy Sprouts

I got way carried away the other day with putting the bouquet flowers in my cans to be silly, but luckily the seeds didn't get messed up and they are growing pretty fast. I was so excited yesterday (day 3) when I saw tiny leaves popping out from the soil!

Sana - my friend from work - came over and went with Michael & I to dinner at Sweet Tomatoes then to City Walk. Michael met some friends of a friend, so Sana and I stayed in the gift shop, looking at Amish aprons and friendship bracelets. We went to the candy store and I bought energy gummy bears, ate the handful (one at a time) and proceeded to roll down a hill by the water after seeing some little boys doing the same. Instant mini-headache, but worth it!

I took more pictures after work today (day 4- our last day of 911 training before we sit "on the floor" and listen to/answer live calls!) because even more sprouts had grown. The Marigolds were lagging yesterday.

Burning House ~ Online

Since my original blog posting on January 28th,
raving about The Burning House website,
I've continued to check back to see
if my submission had been added yet..
And finally today it has!

Here is the direct link to my entry.

Morning Glory

I went on the balcony to water my flowers today and WHOA! Just kidding, these are some of the ones that Michael bought me last week. What are the chances that I killed any progress from the seeds that I put into the cans by moving around the soil with these stems?

Flower Power

After work, Sana went with me to Wal-Mart so I could pick out the kinds of pretty flowers that I wanted to (attempt to!) grow in my cans. Some that I really liked - by what they had already for people to plant into the ground were - Calibrachoa, Kalanchoe, Dianthus, Angelonia, Gazania and a Watermelon plant.(You may look those beauties up at your leisure.)
But they didn't have any of those in the little seed packs, so I went with Zinnia (Giant Violet Queen and a  Giant Double Mixed Colors) and Marigolds. They were just over a buck each and I picked those because they had the shortest bloom time, being 35-60 days and best in Florida between March and August. I'm hoping that "bloom" means full beauty and that in a few weeks I will at least start seeing the stem or tiny leaves.
I asked Michael if he would plant the seeds with me, but he was sleeping, which I am pretty sure was a better decision as he would have had a massive cow if he saw all the Miracle Grow on the floor that I missed while scooping into the cans. Of course, since I was focusing on having child-at-heart fun, I wasn't trying to be overly careful and simply vacuumed it up afterward. Hooray!

Planting Plants

~ Well, hello again. ~
As you may be able to tell, I have not taken m(any) pictures lately. I've only been taking Polaroids, plus I have been trying to focus more time on exercising, sleeping and Lent related journaling (which I need to catch up on!). I did take a few photos a couple weekends ago, but can't post those since they are being used for Easter cards and I don't want to spoil the cute surprise.
Today I was "stumbling upon" various websites that relate to my interests and got an idea of trying to grow some flowers in our apartment. Not sure why this suddenly sounds so intriguing.. I found the idea of using washed out cans to use as flower pot substitutes.
I covered mine with some of my favorite comics: Pickles, Zits and Baby Blues. Tomorrow after work I plan on stopping by Wal-Mart to pick up some seeds and soil, then I will keep you updated with the growth of my blossoming nature!
