LACMA by Day

Back on Friday, August 16th.. (sorry, I thought we took more pictures than we did and editing all of them can often feel like a daunting task).. Michael and I went to the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, also known as LACMA. I read online that on Fridays in August, the exhibits were open until 11pm, so I assumed everything was open until then. I was wrong. All the buildings still closed at 5pm (which was about ten minutes after we got there), but you could see the outside stuff until 11pm, I guess. There was one area that Michael even said looked interesting to him- the La Brea Discoveries Museum- so I felt bad when it was closed. I didn't learn much about any of the things we saw, so I don't have more info to add on the subjects, but here are the best pictures that I took.
I felt like this trip was kind of uneventful since we couldn't go into any of the buildings and see all the main stuff that they advertise on their website, yet I was still glad we had a chance to visit what we could. Michael and I were there maybe 45 minutes to an hour, just walking around? I was so pleased at the end to find that the parking was free, or at least the tenant in the parking lot booth had been on his lunch break, so there was no place to pay a fee. Afterwards, I let Michael pick the next activities so we had dinner at Outback then saw Despicable Me 2 at the AMC theater in Burbank.

  1. I think it is great that you can see some of the sights while in California. And this looks like an interesting place to look around. Thanks for sharing. -D
